[01/26/21]   ATTENTION*** I will be closed from Friday January 29th - Thursday Feb 4th. Will be driving my parents to Folly Beach , SC. I still have a few openings left this week if anyone needs to get in.
Forgot to take a before picture, but this was a big makeover for her.
Just 1 week left to stop in and purchase gift certificates. They make great gifts for those hard to buy for.
[12/13/20]   Celebrating 36 years in business this week!!! the same location. WOW!! Where has the time gone? I have seen many clients come and go. I think often of the ones that started with me and came in once a week for their weekly sets. They became FAMILY. I have a few that have remained loyal clients for all 36 years and I cant even begin to thank them enough for having the trust in me and gaining some of the best relationships I have in my life. Hoping I have many more years yet behind the chair.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL and bring on 2021 and lets HOPE its the BEST year ever.πŸ₯‚β™₯️

Just an update from our professional licensing bureau. I have been following these guidelines all along with the exception of allowing clients to remove their mask for facial waxing or beard and moustache trims. I will no longer be able to perform these services as of now. I will continue to keep all my clients and myself safe by following ALL the guidelines set out for us.
[06/18/20]   Ive had 1 full week back to work now and not gonna lie, its been VERY overwhelming and exhausting. 10-12 hour days behind the chair!!! But....It is so good to see everyone again. THANK YOU for all your patience with the NEW rules and regulations I have put in place. And THANK YOU all for continuing to support me and ALL your LOVE you have shown me. I am still trying to get everyone in the schedule. Just PLEASE continue to be patient. I am receiving your messages and will call you back. Enjoy this beautiful weather for now!!! ❀❀
[06/12/20]   Thank you to all my clients for being patient with me these last 2 days of reopening. Its definitely been super busy and challenging. I appreciate you all and Im still working on the schedule and returning calls to get everyone their appointments. I can not take walkins at this time as I do not have any open times for weeks. Im working overtime hours and my body feels it right now. You ALL are important and appreciated . THANKS for your patience!!! Its been GREAT seeing you and catching up and getting you feeling beautiful and back to yourself again. ❀❀❀
[06/10/20]   TODAY'S the day we finally get to reopen!!! Cant wait to see you all and catch up with your lives. PLEASE be patient with all the new regulations. It is to keep you all safe!! To those of you that have left messages and have not received a call back yet, please know that I am working on that. It has been an overwhelming process. You all have been missed.
[06/05/20]   FINALLY WE CAN OPEN!!!!! Wednesday June 10th is opening day. Please be patient with the process. I am contacting everyone that had appts cancelled first and then everyone that has sent me a message to be put on the list. This is NOT an easy process. I am trying to be fair and get everyone is ASAP. There will be lots of rules and regulations . I will update them all when I know them. As of now, I know that a mask WILL BE required. One client in building at a time. Please wait in your car until I come get you as I need to sanitize and disinfect after each client leaves. No cough, No fevers or you must reschedule. I will take that seriously!!! I cant WAIT to see you all . PLEASE understand the new normal.
[06/03/20]   Governor Whitmore.....This is for YOU!!!!

I don't just 'do hair'. The lady who found out she had melanoma, because after seeing a lesion on her scalp I suggested she might want to have her doctor take a look at it. The guy who had an a spot on his ear, that he never would have noticed. The ones who complained of being 'so tired', after I had already noticed something was going on with their hair leaving it dry/brittle and suggested they mention that too at their next doctor's appointment. The people who suffer from Allodynia and the brush of a few hairs cause immense pain, that we have worked to find a happy medium and not completely shave their head. The woman with dementia, whose husband brings her in weekly to be pampered. The same one who doesn't remember that is her husband, but remembers that this is a place she feels safe. The little girl who gets her hair shaved off after starting yet another round of chemo. I'm the one that hugged her mom because I saw the fear and sadness in her eyes, then silently cried after they had left that day. I was there for the pre-wedding smiles, laughter, jitters, tears, fears, and joy. I'm the one giving first haircuts and reminding parents to take a little piece for the scrapbook. This is where people feel safe to vent, relax, and just feel better.

It's not just hair Governor! As cosmetologists and barbers, we are trained in sanitation and skin/hair/nail disorders. We see things before others even realize it's there or it could be an issue. We are the ones who no matter what have a smile, hug, or listening ear to offer.

The services we offer are ESSENTIAL. We can safely provide these services. Yet you belittle us and our profession. I hold a license from the State of Michigan as proof I understand sanitation; I hold a salon establishment license as proof my salon has been inspected by a representative of the State of Michigan. What more evidence do you need? Stop treating us like errant children and let us do our jobs!
[06/01/20]   I am literally APPALLED that the governor would say in her address to just ""google" how to cut your hair or put it in a ponytail!!!! Does she think I obtained my license online??? Such a slap in the face to our profession!!. 🀬
[06/01/20]   I am so sorry she STILL hasn't given us the green light to get back to work. To all my clients....PLEASE hang in there. I can't wait to see you all back in the salon and catch up with your lives and get you back to feeling normal again. TRUST ME....this has been just as hard on me too. Some people may say "It's just hair" . but its not "just hair" ...its about our connections and conversations that we all miss so much. I will give EACH one of you whatever time it takes to catch up with what we've missed. Please contact me thru here or leave a message on the salons voicemail system to get on my list. I have already been working on the schedule and have plans on work 7 days a week until I get you all in. Stay safe and healthy and PLEASE don't drive to Ohio to get your haircut.🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣.
[05/18/20]   Im sure you all have heard the Governor's address today. If not....NO we can NOT open up yet. Please know, I have been receiving all of your messages and have started a list to start scheduling appointments as soon as we get the go ahead. My clients that had to be cancelled when all of this first started will be first to be scheduled. After that, I am going by the messages I have been receiving on my answering machine and all other forms of communication. I will do my best to get you ALL taken care of as soon as I can. All I ask for is your PATIENCE. This will be a very frustrating time for me trying to get everyone in and getting you all feeling beautiful again. I PROMISE it will be worth the wait!!!. MISS YOU ALL. β€πŸ’•β€πŸ’•
[05/06/20]   I saw this on another stylists page and had to share. It brought tears to my eyes. Such a strange time we are all going through now. We will make it!

It's just hair - I got to be a part of your wedding!

It's just hair - I was there for your child's first haircut.

It's just hair - I was there for your first date.

It's just hair - I was there for your school dance .

It's just hair - I was there for their funeral.

It's just hair- I was there for your graduation.

It's just hair- I was there when you didn't like the way you looked.

It's just hair- when you got offered your dream job and nobody else knew but me and you!

It's just hair- when you met the person of your dreams and they told you they loved you for the very first time!

It's just hair- when all you wanted in the whole world is a hug from your hair stylist because you knew they'd give it to you with open arms!

It's just hair- when you lost your job and didn't know what you were going to do

It's just hair- when you were getting a divorce and just needed to feel better about yourself.

It's just hair- when you had a terrible day and looked forward to being able to vent without being judged

It's just hair- when you are about to go on vacation and can't wait to tell me all about it on your next visit

It's just hair- when you bought your very first home

It's just hair

It's not "just hair" Never has been and never will be!

[05/02/20]   If anyone needs a Mothers Day gift certificate , please message me and I will make arrangements to get one to you!!
[04/29/20]   Well....πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯ The Governor never said anything today in her update for us going back to work. Im getting VERY stir crazy being quarantined and no interaction with people!!! (However..My dog Cooper is loving it)
Not used to this kind of daily routine. Ive been following several different states guidelines for reopening of salons and what the recommendations or requirements are going to be for them. Im assuming it will be similar here also once we are able to get back to work. I will share some of them with you that may happen.
* Mask must be worn by clients, even during service.
* Only 1 client in salon at a time, with no one accompanying, unless a child is receiving services.
* You must wait outside until you are called in for your appt. ( So a little advice...might be a good idea to make an appt and not walkin at this time)
*Each Client will be required to either wash their hands or use sanitizer before service
*Some states are even going to do a temperature check before service.
* Alot of you know, I use my phone for Credit card payments (Square payment). I may be asking for cash instead temporarily.
*I also may need 10 minutes in between clients to sanitize everything thoroughly. (I am now certified in Barbicide disinfection πŸ€—. I took an online class for this during my quarantined days. Nothing really new, but I now have a certificate for this.πŸ€—πŸ€)
* I will also definitely be wearing a mask, and possibly a face shield and disposable gown if we are made to. πŸ™„

These are all just a few bits of advice and recommendations I have been following with other hairdressers throughout the different states. Please bear with me for ANYTHING I may ask of you, my clients. I only care about YOUR health, MY health, and OUR communities health as a whole. LOVE, HUGS and PRAYERS to you all. Cant wait to get back to work!!!!!
[04/09/20]   To my clients::: So sorry but "per governor's orders" we will be closed until end of April now. 😒. However...I do believe this is what we need to flatten the curve. I HOPE everyone is practicing social distancing and staying healthy so that we can get back to NORMAL real soon. I am missing you ALL. I am prepared to have to work 7 days a week , 10 hour days to accommodate everyone the best I can. I have received texts, private messages and cards in the mail supporting me and maybe even trying to bribe me into being FIRST in line when I do return to work. πŸ™„ I was actually thinking of selling raffle tickets for "First in Line" appts.πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€£πŸ€£. Anyways....I still have some of the temporary color available if anyone needs any.
